Gemini 2.5 Pro in agent mode gets caught in infinite loops

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Put Gemini 2.5 Pro into Agent Mode
2. Ask it to do something (e.g., fix a bug)

Some meaningful percentage of the time it will just get caught in an infinite loop. It's consistent.

I have taken to asking Gemini to create plans and then using other models to execute them, but this costs more.
