Exchange usernames between two GitHub accounts

I have two accounts (@zaygraveyard and @ziadkh0), I would like to rename the former to the latter and vice-versa.
I created @ziadkh0 after @zaygraveyard as a placeholder to reserve the name and one day do this operation (its basically empty).
After the rename @zaygraveyard will serve as a placeholder to inform people of said rename.

What is the best way to do this operation?

2. @zaygraveyard -> @ziadkh0
3. temp -> @zaygraveyard

Another question, is there a minimum wait time between rename operations on the same account? (In my case the @ziadkh0 will need to be renamed twice successively)

Hey I'm facing the same problem,
Did you rename those account?
If yes, Did you face any issues while renaming?

Not yet, I don't want to mess it up 😰
I created 3 dummy accounts to try the technique above on, but for some unknown reason the "Change username" button is disabled in those accounts 😔

I'm hoping someone from @github can shed some light on the subject🤞

Just tried these steps and it worked flawlessly, the username change was very fast (less than a minute) but your mileage may vary.

If you haven't already, check out my article.

First, check out the side effects of changing accounts.
It's explained in the link below.

Also, “Another question, is there a minimum wait time between rename operations on the same account? (In my case the @ziadkh0 will need to be renamed twice successfully)”
is answered when you go to 'Change username' and it says 'Renaming may take a few minutes to complete.

So, to summarize, proceed as described in the comment above.

1. @ziadkh0 -> {availble-name}
2. go to the old account (@ziadkh0) page and see if you get a “404 Not found”.
3. if it does, change to @zaygraveyard -> @ziadkh0.
4. go to the old account (@zaygraveyard) page and check if you get “404 Not found”.
5. if it does, change it to {available-name} -> @zaygraveyard.

I recommend doing this in the early morning, as it may take a few minutes for the intermediate steps to complete.
