Started receiving this warning:

You only have a single verified email address. We recommend verifying at least one more email address to ensure you can recover your account if you lose access to your primary email.

So I added one extra email and sent the mail verification code which never reaches my inbox, I'm trying that for few days already.

Another issue:

Every notification is automatically marked as read. I don't use any 3rd party tool to read my notifications, I use only my browser (mac or phone) so not sure why/how all notifications get marked read.

It seems to me Github is having issues but not sure.

Hi @rodhash ,

About the verification code problem check the spam folder on your email, if nothing appears there either, try contacting support by opening a ticket here, select Other and explain your issue.

Regarding the notifications issue, personally I'm not experiencing it, so I don't know what could be the cause; first try going to your notifications settings, in the Subscriptions section check that you receive notifications on GitHub.

If that doesn't fix it try clearing your browser cache or use another browser.

I have the same issue and I DON'T want to register a second e-mail account.
I do not understand why this should be necessary. The only reason I can think of why Microsoft requests more than one email address is that it is even better to spy on the behavior of users. A person can be uniquely identified on the Internet by an e-mail address. What's the point of all this?

I was wondering if Microsoft (or GitHub) ever considered an account a problem, then would disable it and the one as the primary account of the secondary email. So if you forked or worked on a repo that suddenly became disliked by The Establishment, not only could that repo be banned, but anyone working on it, and any accounts related to the secondary email. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I've seen a lot of BS from Establishment corporations (like M3t@).

i have email, phone number, recovery codes and 2FA. why do i need to register yet another email address?

You need to choose your audience more wisely. No one here is falling for your naive argument. At the very least, improve your writing so it’s somewhat convincing.
