After authorization in the Copilot VS Code extension, it writes this error in the log
2025-04-02 14:08:13.936 [info] [certificates] Removed 7 expired certificates
2025-04-02 14:08:15.173 [info] [auth] Invalid copilot token: missing token: 403

Completely removed VS Code and installed it again. Error on several devices, Windows 11 and Debian 12.
With or without proxy, the result is the same.
And the "Sign in to GitHub.com" button does not respond, the chat does not open, although I successfully authorized after opening the GitHub.com website.

Hello @mcdjiscn,

First, try removing the current authorization (if it exists).
Go to https://github.com/settings/applications > Authorized OAuth Apps, find GitHub Copilot, and revoke access.

Then, clear Copilot’s login cache in VS Code:
Open the command palette and run Copilot: Sign out.

If you're on Linux, you can also launch VS Code with debug mode to get more detailed logs:

code --log debug --enable-proposed-api github.copilot

The issue seems to be that Copilot isn't receiving the token it needs, even after login. The 403 and missing token errors usually mean one of the following:

Things to try (this worked for me):

• Double-check if GitHub Copilot is enabled for your account.
  • Go to https://github.com/settings/copilot
    → Make sure it’s active for IDEs and for your GitHub user (not just for an organization)
• Revoke both GitHub Copilot and GitHub Copilot Chat
  • On https://github.com/settings/applications
  • Under both Authorized OAuth Apps and Authorized GitHub Apps, revoke everything related to Copilot
  • Then try signing in again in VS Code
• Delete the Copilot extension storage manually.

Sometimes just signing out isn’t enough. Try deleting:

~/.config/Code/User/globalStorage/github.copilot*
~/.config/Code/User/globalStorage/github.copilot-chat*

(based on your logs, those look like the correct directories)

Then reinstall the extension from scratch.

I completely uninstalled VS Code
then deleted
~/.config/Code/
~/.vscode/
Then revoked all
Authorized GitHub Apps
Authorized OAuth Apps

The error remains

With another account where there is only Copilot Free, everything works

But on the account where there is a Copilot Pro subscription, this error occurs
