How do I remove Copilot code review requests?

I don't want Copilot. I never want Copilot. I will never want Copilot. I absolutely despise Copilot.

It is now always the first possible item in the list of reviewers to request for my pull requests. I've turned Copilot off in any way possible I think and yet, this is there.

How do I remove it? If you're not going to remove it, how do I get my money back for paying for the general Github service that you continue to degrade because you need to make your investors money back on your wasted AI investments?

I have the same problem. In Settings / Copilot I have disabled/blocked every option, but the interface still suggests Copilot as a reviewer for pull-requests.

If a project wants code reviewed by humans only and doesn't want its juniors encouraged to code via monkeys on typewriters it is currently better to offramp from Github. I would rather avoid having to do this. Please add an organization- or repo- level policy to remove this option.

Paying customers with no-AI policies should not have to work around enforced AI slop.

Hey all! Thanks for this feedback. Looks like there was a small bug in our visibility but that has now been resolved. If you still see the feature, that would be the result of having a Copilot license provisioned by an organization you belong to who has enabled the feature.

@eshwer Is there a way to turn off the suggestion of Copilot as a reviewer of PRs, while leaving the other features enabled? I have looked a bit at our Enterprise and Organization settings and don't see a way to turn that specific feature off. Or, is it something that could be done with a Ruleset on a per-repository basis? I know that Copilot can't approve a PR, so I'm not concerned-concerned, but it'd be nice to be able to prevent that suggestion.

The feature is tied to our Copilot in github.com policy and can be enabled/disabled in that way.

I would double check that the Ruleset is not enabled, if you are seeing it auto-added to PRs.

The copilot reviewer really feels like marketing in guise of a feature, for now I've used ublock origin to remove it from the suggestions list. It would be great if you could block it like you can any other user or application.

The main issue is usually that you're part of an organization that has Copilot enabled, so even if you turn it off personally, it still appears because your org admin has it turned on. You'll need to check your organization settings or ask your admin to disable it at the org level. If you're not in an org or that doesn't work, try going to Settings > Copilot and making sure everything is disabled, especially any code review features. Some people have resorted to using browser extensions like uBlock Origin to just hide it from the interface entirely. If all else fails, you might need to contact GitHub support directly since they seem to respond when people mention refunds, as one commenter sarcastically noted.

In the Organization settings I've set Copilot > Coding agent > Repository access to No repositories and it still shows up.

This is just broken by design.

Hello, I have a github organization with Github Classroom. How do I disable Github Code Review from being selected by members of the organization? It's using up our github actions budget. I see how to turn off the automatic Code Reviews, but I need to prevent the option entirely.
