Rate limit exhausted for GitHub Copilot despite having Student Pack #161268

Select Topic AreaQuestion Copilot Feature AreaCopilot Agent Mode BodyHi GitHub team and community, I am currently using GitHub Copilot with the Student Pack, but I keep getting the following error message when trying to use it: Sorry, you have exhausted this model's rate limit. Please wait a moment before trying again, or switch to a different model. Learn More I am unsure why this is happening since I have the Student Pack which should include sufficient access. This issue is interrupting my workflow and I would appreciate any guidance or fixes. Details: I am logged in with my student account. The error appears after a few completions or quite quickly. Today is June 2nd, so I believe the monthly rate limit should have reset by now, but I am still encountering the same rate limit error. I have tried waiting and retrying, but the issue persists. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a known limitation with the student pack, or could it be a configuration or account issue? |

Yeah me too. Whatever model I try - I get this. it seems it a new plan they have set in place for copilot |

I'm using Github Copilot Pro, and for me too since yesterday the service has become completely unusable. I don't know if they activated something on purpose, or if something broke, but for me it's no longer possible to have copilot output more than a line of text or code before being rate limited again, even when waiting for hours between prompts or changing models. Update: I looked it up and according to the usage report, I have used 18 premium requests in June so far. So I don't think it can reasonably be a matter of overuse. |
