If you mean:

Contributions or streak badges on your profile: Make sure you're contributing to public repositories, using your main email linked to GitHub, and not pushing code from an unverified email.

Education or participation badges (like Hacktoberfest): You need to follow the event-specific rules (e.g., valid PRs, registered email, correct tagging).

Codespaces-specific badges: GitHub currently doesn’t issue badges specifically for using Codespaces.

If you're expecting a badge and haven't received it, check:

Your email is verified on GitHub.

You’re logged into the correct account.

You’ve met all the criteria required for the badge.

We made the decision to disable the ability to earn Achievements (Galaxy Brain) in our Community in order to discourage users from participating in coordinated or inauthentic activity like rapid questions and answers in order to earn badges. You can learn more about this decision in our announcement post here Achievements will no longer be available in the Community.

Note that GitHub's Acceptable Use Policies prohibits coordinated or inauthentic activity like rapid questions and answers. As a result, we'll be unmarking the answer and locking this post.
