It's been 5 days since I worked on my project, today I login and try to open it, I get this error:

"This project failed to load"
Sorry about that. Please try refreshing and contact us if the problem persists.

The project is private, it has one private repo. I renamed the repo and the project last week, I'm suspicious this is the problem. Please help, I have a LOT of planning work in that project

Hi! It sounds like the issue is likely related to the repository and project renaming — GitHub Projects can lose the link to their associated repo if either is renamed, especially in private projects. Heres what you can try:

1. Refresh and retry – Sometimes this is just a temporary cache or sync problem. Try opening the project in a different browser or incoginto mode.
2. Check repository link – Open the project’s settings and make sure the linked repository is still correctly connected. If not, re-link it manually.
3. Restore original name (if possible) – If the rename caused the break, temporarily changing the repo and/or project name back to the original can sometimes restore access.
4. Export data – If the project loads partially, try exporting or copying the planning content immediately to avoid data loss.
5. Contact GitHub Support – Since this is a private project with critical planning work, open a support ticket with details (including the rename timeline and the exact error message). Attach a screenshot to help their team diagnose faster.

I have the same issue before and restoring orginal name works for me.

I am experiencing the same issue but did not rename repository. My team has been working on the repo continuously and now see this issue so I don't think it has anything to do with renaming.

I think there is still some instability... We have also noticed that in some cases no PRs are shown even though we have pending PRs.

I've been having the same issues during the day...must be some instability on their platforms.

Logging the same issue in 2026.

• It's not related to a renaming (we renamed it about 4 weeks ago and it only stopped working today).
• It's not related to cache (tried in different browsers and no success)

I'm seeing the same problem. The screen showed up after I deleted an issue. All view which included this issue break, others work.

I deleted an issue from a specific Project and now that project no longer loads. Other projects work. AI tells me that I have my own blocking plugins, but that is false, since I can access other projects just fine. This is a traffic issue?
