Is there a plan for GitHub Copilot coding agent to be executed via BYOK? #171796

Select Topic AreaProduct Feedback Copilot Feature AreaCopilot Coding Agent BodyThe current version of the GitHub Copilot coding agent cannot handle tasks exceeding 20 minutes, as they may end prematurely. I would like to know if the GitHub team plans to extend the task execution time through BROK or another method? |

Yeah, that 20-minute cap is a current limitation of Copilot Coding Agent. For now there isn’t a way to extend it yourself, so longer tasks can get cut off. The GitHub team hasn’t shared plans yet about increasing the limit, but keeping an eye on the Changelog In the meantime, what’s worked for me is breaking bigger jobs into smaller chunks — the agent tends to handle them much better that way without timing out. |

I'm just getting started and I'm very interested in what problems there are with GitHub Copilot. |
