Notifications: cannot get rid of notification (probably marked as spam)

It shows that I have one unread notification:

But it doesn't show it.

In the repositories list, there is a new weird paradigmmm/paradigm-stack repo (that I have never interacted with), showing one unread notification. Again, clicking on that doesn't show anything:

I assume this repo was flagged as spam, and then removed, or hidden, or is marked as private now, or so? (I cannot access the repo.)

Anyway, how can I get rid of this unread notification? It's annoying that it always shows that there is one unread notification.

Doing this in the developer tools JS console:

document.querySelector('.js-notifications-mark-all-actions').removeAttribute('hidden');
document.querySelector('.js-notifications-mark-all-actions form[action="/notifications/beta/archive"] button').removeAttribute('disabled');

That solved it. Now it could mark them as done.

In my case, the Github notification e-mail I received from the repository that generated this ghost notification contained a phishing link.

This means that an attacker has a way of signing me up for notifications (which I can't remove!), and then they can send me phishing links directly to my personal e-mail inbox which are officially signed by Github. Ouch.

That "way of signing [you] up for notifications" is simply pinging you in any repository. The default notification policy on GitHub is being notified if you are pinged anywhere so the workflow for an attacker is

1. Create a repo
2. Create a bunch of issues / PRs pinging random GitHub users, putting phishing links in the markdown
3. Wait

@mvarendorff This is very helpful, I'm sad that this is the state of things. It also perfectly explains why I immediately received phishing links sent to my e-mail in response to the above comment (and I'll be expecting them for this one). Is everyone just numb to this now, or is it a more recent development (in your opinion)?

This is super annoying. Have had this for more than a month now and the suggested fix doesn't work for me.

I was skeptical but it works.

1. open notifications center
2. open dev console and paste into console

document.querySelector('.js-notifications-mark-all-actions').removeAttribute('hidden');
document.querySelector('.js-notifications-mark-all-actions form[action="/notifications/beta/archive"] button').removeAttribute('disabled');

3. at this point new buttons/checkboxes will appear. click on "All" checkbox to select everything (even though faulty notification doesn't exist on the view)
4. repeat step 2 again because after you do 3 buttons disappear.
5. Click Done button this time.
