I am currently logged into Visual Studio Code using my GitHub account, but I am not logged in on any browser because I am unable to complete 2FA verification. I do not have access to my mobile authentication codes, which prevents me from signing in through the browser.

To help verify my ownership of the account, I can provide details of any repository, project, or comments I have made on GitHub. Please let me know what information you require so that I can recover full access to my account.

The Correct Method: Submit a Support Ticket
Go to the GitHub Support Contact Form:
click here
Fill out the form with these details:

1. Subject: Account access issue: Lost 2FA recovery codes
2. Email: Enter an email address that you have access to. This is where they will reply. It does not have to be your account's primary email, but it's best if it is.
3. Description: This is the most important part. You should copy and paste the refined message we created for the discussion.

I am unable to access my GitHub account (@SulemanAhmedRajput) because I have lost access to my two-factor authentication (2FA) codes. I am currently logged into this account via Visual Studio Code, which I believe verifies my ownership, but I cannot complete 2FA to log in on the web.

If you’ve lost access to your two-factor authentication (2FA) credentials, you can regain access to your account by using your recovery codes or another recovery option. Please visit GitHub’s Virtual Assistant to explore your available options.

Additionally, check out our GitHub 2FA Troubleshooting & Prevention Guide 🔐 for comprehensive troubleshooting steps.

If you have lost your 2FA codes and recovery codes, the only way to regain access to your account is by using a previously set up verified device, SSH key, or Personal Access Token (PAT). If you have any of these, please open a ticket in our Support Portal.

If you do not have access to any of these methods and have lost your recovery codes, unfortunately, our support team is unable to bypass two-factor authentication (2FA) for security reasons. However, you can unlink your email address here.

For Future Reference: Once you regain access, I highly recommend:

• Saving recovery codes in multiple secure locations
• Setting up multiple 2FA methods (authenticator app + Passkey + GitHub Mobile)
• Considering using a password manager that can store recovery codes

I am writing to formally appeal the suspension of my account (leiria3d.contato@gmail.com).

I was recently using GitHub Copilot Chat within VS Code to work on a personal project when I suddenly lost access and received a notification that my account has been suspended for a Terms of Service violation.

I am unaware of any actions that could have caused this. I use this account for professional and learning purposes, and losing access has significantly halted my workflow.
