Student Benefits Application Status Pending for over 4 months

Hi everyone,

I applied for a Github Education Benefits Pack over 4 months ago using my student id, from a known university. My status has been Pending since then with no changes. It won't let me cancel my application or resubmit it. What can I do?

Hi!
If your GitHub Education (Student Developer Pack) application has been stuck on “Pending” for 4+ months, it’s usually because GitHub is still waiting for manual verification or the uploaded proof didn’t meet their requirements.

✅ What you can do now:

1. Check your email (including Spam/Promotions)

GitHub often sends a verification request or asks for extra documents.

2. Make sure your Student ID proof is clear

Your ID should clearly show:

• Full name

• University name

• Valid date / expiry date (or current academic year)

• Blurry / cropped IDs often get stuck pending.

3. Try applying again using your university email

• If you have a valid university email (ending with .edu or official domain), add it in: GitHub Settings → Emails

Verify it, then re-check the Education pack page.

4. Contact GitHub Education Support Since you cannot cancel/resubmit, the best solution is to contact them directly:

Go to GitHub Education page → Help/Support

Or open a support ticket explaining:

Application pending 4 months

Cannot cancel/resubmit

University is verified/known They usually fix it after manual review.

5. Optional: Use a different browser / clear cache Sometimes the cancel/resubmit button glitches due to cookies/session issues.

I have already done everything you mentioned. My university email is added and verified and I've checked my email. I am unable to submit a support ticket since Github stopped allowing individual manual review. I've attached an image showing the error.

What can i do now?
