Deleted github org now after changing my mind trying to recreate it says not available #186542
-
Select Topic AreaGeneral BodyI deleted my github org like a week ago, now I've decided to change my mind and to recreate it again and it says I'm unable to for 90 days. Is there a way to override this so I can create my org named again? My apologies for the trouble. I was having a bad day and only recently realized I made a mistake by deleting the org. Now when I go to my websiteit's going to some Indonesian online casino "TRI7BET - Situs Slot Gacor Indonesia dengan Winrate Tertinggi Hari Ini" and I didn't authorize or approve this kind of thing, I want to return the codebase and the organization and setup the website again. Please help me return my organization. Thank you |

Unfortunately, this is expected behavior. GitHub Support usually can’t restore deleted orgs or release the name early either. Your options are: For the domain issue, you’ll need to update your DNS or hosting settings separately — GitHub doesn’t control that part. |

When you delete a GitHub organization, the name is locked for 90 days and can’t be reused — there’s no manual override for this.

wait out the 90-day period, or
create a new org with a temporary name and rename it later.
