Don’t worry—what you’re seeing is likely just a temporary authorization. When you start a GitHub trial, GitHub sometimes “checks” your card with a small hold (usually $1–$10) to make sure it’s valid. This isn’t an actual charge and should disappear from your account in a few days, depending on your bank.

You won’t be billed for this while you’re on the trial. Your card will only be charged if you decide to continue with a paid subscription after the trial ends.

If the $10 actually posts as a completed charge and doesn’t go away after a few days, it’s a good idea to reach out to GitHub Support to get it sorted.
