Github account gone without a trace. #187121

Select Topic AreaQuestion BodyHey, Github! I was the owner and user of a github account (which I will not share the name of unless prompted, JIC), which randomly disappeared without a trace. I tried searching it up, tried going to the link, to no avail. I'm super confused. I didn't get an email about getting hacked or suspended, so I'm confused. Please help! |

Hey, That’s really weird and honestly super frustrating. If your GitHub account completely disappeared and you didn’t get any emails, a few things could’ve happened: It might’ve been suspended for some reason (sometimes emails go to spam). The username could’ve been changed. Someone might’ve gotten access and deleted it. I’d try resetting your password with any email you might’ve used, just to see if the account still exists. Also check your spam folder for anything from GitHub. If nothing works, your best bet is to contact GitHub Support directly and explain what happened. They’re the only ones who can actually tell you what’s going on. |

That’s actually really weird 😭 I’d be stressed too. If the password reset email isn’t even sending, something’s definitely off. Maybe the email got changed or the account got suspended. I’d double check spam and make sure you’re using the exact right email. If nothing shows up, just contact GitHub Support. They’re probably the only ones who can tell you what actually happened. Hope it’s just a glitch. |

Ah, gotcha. Sounds like contacting GitHub Support in the morning is the best move then. Hopefully it’s something simple and they can sort it out quickly. Good luck, and glad I could help a bit! O7 |
