how can I trigger skills on-demand in the conversation?
how to create user level skills at github.com, not in my cli?
"ask" will have the skills feature? or only agents?

Hi! Great question. Here's what I know about Copilot Skills on github.com:

Triggering Skills On-Demand
Currently on github.com, you can trigger skills by using the @ mention in Copilot Chat:

• Type @ in the chat to see available agents/skills
• Example: @github what are my open PRs?

User-Level Skills on github.com
Right now, user-level custom skills are not directly configurable on github.com UI. Custom skills are mainly available via:

• GitHub Copilot Extensions (installed via GitHub Marketplace)
• CLI-based MCP (Model Context Protocol) integrations

Will "Ask" mode have Skills?

• Ask mode focuses on codebase Q&A
• Skills/tools are mainly available in Agent mode
• So yes — Agent mode is where skills are triggered, not Ask mode

Workaround for github.com

1. Go to → github.com/settings/copilot
2. Check "Copilot Extensions" section
3. Install any extension from GitHub Marketplace
4. It will appear as a skill in your github.com Copilot Chat
