Hi everyone,

I’ve been trying to verify my student status for the GitHub Student Developer Pack, but I’m running into some issues and wanted to ask if anyone here has faced something similar—especially those studying in China.

Here’s my situation:

I don’t have a single standard student ID card. Instead, I have a student ID book (common in Chinese universities).
All my documents are in Chinese.

1. Yes, the student ID book works — but how you photograph it matters a lot
   Chinese university student ID books (学生证) are accepted by GitHub's verification system. The key is showing the right pages clearly:
   Open it to the page that shows your photo + full name + student number
   On the next page show your institution name and enrollment year

Take two separate clear photos of each page rather than trying to show everything at once — this is much better than cramming it all into one frame
