Context
The current Buildings tab does not match the intended design. Rather than patching it, rebuild it as a single MVP task per the design doc at mvp_building-design-doc.txt (repo root). Reference screenshot: mvp_buildings.png (three-column iPad productivity-dashboard style, closer to Figma/Notion than Unity).
MVP goal
The Buildings tab answers one question: "Which building do I want to customize?" Nothing more.
Workflow: Open Buildings → Browse → Select → Customize → Save.
Scope
Left sidebar (dark navy): app name, Dashboard, Buildings (active = blue pill), district status card, Settings. Nothing else.
Top filter row: search address, Neighborhood dropdown, Type dropdown (e.g. Mission / Storefront / Residential), More Filters.
Building grid (center): 4-column grid of large cards — street-view thumbnail, address, type + neighborhood, optional ● Customized badge (green dot), overflow menu. Selected card gets a blue border. Paginated.
Right inspector panel: address title, Customized badge, large preview image, building details (address, neighborhood, type, floors, footprint), Street View / 3D View preview toggle, actions.
Primary action: large blue Customize Building button → opens Building Canvas. Secondary: Reset to Generated (only for already-customized buildings).
Building Canvas MVP tools: Brush, Image, AI Sign, Text, Erase. No procedural tools, no region tools, no template concepts.
Save flow: Customize → Save → building marked Customized (the only status).
Explicitly out of scope (remove/omit)
View Template, statistics (triangles, draw calls, override counts), bulk actions, export, regenerate, duplicate, delete, template badges, generation stats, source tracing, advanced 3D editing.
Visual style
Modern, lightweight, rounded corners, soft shadows, minimal color. Off-white/light-gray background; white cards with subtle borders. Blue only for active states and primary actions.
Success criteria
- Import buildings
- Browse buildings
- Search buildings
- Open building
- Draw on facade
- Add sign
- Save
If all seven work, the MVP is done. Everything else layers on later.
